2006-02-10 10:03:00 | Thanks gibler. I'd been trying for a while & couldn't find any iso files that were up to date. I presume I'm right in thinking domestic downloads are not part of the xtra quota. Phil

2006-02-10 23:37:00 | Buy a February Australian PC magazine, and boot the DVD (it will wipe your disk and install DEbian for you). It's got 1.9GB of Debian 3.1 on it. $9.95 . | Graham L (2) | |
2006-02-11 09:21:00 | I did, the disc's stuffed, it won't read. I tried to download it & that buggered too, it woldn't save it for some reason. Now I've used all my 10gb in the 1st 4 days of my bill cycle. I'm now looking for another ISP that does the business. I was looking at IHUG but it looks like they want to rip me $99 to connect with em. I've left the phone on hands free & it's been over 1/2 an hour & still not spoken to anyone there yet. If they don't want to talk to potential customers thats fine, I wonder how they treat existing ones | Phil B (648) | |

I use a debian mirror with the ISOs at work, all at 100 MBit too :nerd: I'm using IHUG . . jsut sign up online . I NEVER ring helpdesks (even the one at work), just email them . . . . You can do everything with them online, gone for the 20 + 20 GB Plan (with their Tolls, not that I make any) . |

2006-02-11 10:17:00 | Thank gibler, I'll swap the disc at the shop tomorrow & if it's still no good then i'll pm you. I've signed up with orcon, a friend of mine's been with them for a couple of years & recommends them. I'll leave the tolls with telecom until a better offer comes up. I'm not paying for any transfer. Apparantly telecom charge all the other isp's $99 for the switch. Monopolistic sour grapes | Phil B (648) | |
