429799 2006-02-12 22:24:00 hey whats up guys....
i have internet explorer and when i try to check my email or do other things it goes to a msn search site w/o me wanting it to, ive ran multiple virus/ spyware scans and nothing pops up.. i was wondering if any of you knew what was going on.... and how to fix it.. any help on this would be great..
bpc575 (9791)
429800 2006-02-12 22:33:00 turn off search from address bar in control panel / internet optoins.

the msn search is not great, google is far better. what tends to happen is if IE can't find the site you want straight away (poor connection?) then it will try to search for it instead of waiting for a reply from the site.

429801 2006-02-14 03:14:00 it doesnt have a poor connection... and the website is already found.. its like a pop up that never stops... and i never enabled any search type thing.. this msn thing just popped up bpc575 (9791)

429808 2006-02-15 03:39:00 Thats the log we're after.

Turn system restore off, for now, and boot into safe mode, and run hijackthis again, tick these and tick fix checked.

Then reboot. I would also get this (dl.filekicker.com) from here (www.simplysup.com)

Download it run it, and click on scan.

Then select the 3rd - 7th option under the utilities menu.
