430167 2006-02-14 01:18:00 Might be easier if you tell us what you have done step by step, and we can tell you where you are going wrong. Myth (110)
430168 2006-02-14 01:20:00 1. Make sure the workgroup names are the same.

2. Make sure u enter the ip addresses (under the network card properties), in manually. Not on obtain an ip automatically.

3. If u wanna share a folder, create one, dont share the whole hdd.

4. If any firewalls are installed, add the network for both PC's to it.

430169 2006-02-14 02:27:00 Might want to try NetBEUI on both PC's since it's self-configuring.

On rare occasion, I found connecting PC's together via a cross-over cable doesn't work; hubs are cheap and you'll always find a good use for one later.

430170 2006-02-14 05:41:00 Make sure your logon name in ME is the same as the one on XP. Antmannz (6583)
430171 2006-02-21 05:21:00 Have installed card in ME (Card is built in in the XP machine) But do not know how to configure the TCIP settings esecally in XP and how do you tell them to look for each other? iancorpe (1367)
430172 2006-02-21 05:48:00 For XP: Control Panel, Network Settings. Right click on the LAN connection, properties, TCP/IP, properties. Change to what IP you want.
To tell them to "look for each other" just double click the LAN connection, or right click, enable.

Dunno about ME
