1397975 2015-04-04 00:49:00 got ChromeCast, downloaded Chrome Browser, Google Cast icon shows top right, rt click, options, no cast devices found, - prompt, "don't see your device," ran through the options, tab quality set on high - opened "Videostream," open window shows advice - "click here to choose a video to cast" I select a video from the videos library - caste icon shows "no cast devices found/ device missing" suggest paste "chrome:// restart" in address bar - nothing!

TV has HDMI 1/HDMI 2, device is plugged in to an HDMI port
Have I missed something here?

1397976 2015-04-04 01:19:00 Check the HDMI port that the Chrome cast is plugged into is the one selected on the TV input menu.

Our TV has 3 HDMI ports, One goes to the Vodafone Decoder, another to the PC, another to the Blu-ray Player. You need to select on the TV input / Source menu which device you are using other wise nothing happens.

Also make sure you are using the USB provided to power it up. Dont have chrome cast but every video I've seen you need to use the USB either into the TV if it has a port, or USB to power adapter.

Sounds like this. The Chrome Cast device should be detected even if your TV is not on if you are powering it with its adapter. If you are powering it via a TV USB port on the TV make sure it is a normal USB port, some of them are not and are just there for other purposes like upgrading the TV firmware.

1397978 2015-04-04 02:18:00 HDMI device list includes Chromecast, seems any of 3 ports are suitable - MySky uses 1 so I tried the caste in the other two, same result - maybe I could get rid of Google Chrome and extras and reload from scratch, all devices are on the computer but just don't get recognised - thanks anyway for your help Wainuitech jayal (1291)
1397979 2015-04-04 03:48:00 WiFI needs to be turned on, says the message - the ipad gets the signal as does the phone, how do I turn on WiFi? jayal (1291)
1397980 2015-04-04 04:12:00 OK you need to have the device set up on your network. I suggest you read the quick setup guide that came with it and start over again. CliveM (6007)
1397981 2015-04-04 04:37:00 Plug it in and select it on your TV. Then go to chromecast.com/setup on your phone tablet or laptop and follow the instructions. The system will detect it and you will need to enter your WiFi network password. CliveM (6007)
1397982 2015-04-04 05:35:00 Plug it in and select it on your TV. Then go to chromecast.com/setup on your phone tablet or laptop and follow the instructions. The system will detect it and you will need to enter your WiFi network password. Using Clives instructions you can see the setup video support.google.com wainuitech (129)
1397983 2015-04-04 05:49:00 If you want more -- Hopefully at the end of the Google video you can select the one in red ( screenshot)
It goes from unpacking to setting up to running using a MAC laptop, Windows will be the same:

Or the Center video (chromecast Picture - someone holding it)

I use a different device.

1397984 2015-04-04 23:09:00 there's no option for entering the router password - apparently Chromecast only displays 2.4GHz networks/5GHz not compatible - my router is Netcomm NB604N - ? - also "Your Wi-Fi network configuration prevents devices from communicating with Chromecast. In order to resolve this issue, you will need to disable AP - also known as Client Isolation" so I ticked that box - still no connection - Clive, nowhere to enter the password - gone through the setup video Wainui - same result, no connection - I'll try the Google forums perhaps jayal (1291)
