1397359 2015-03-26 19:23:00 If it's local, how about Linux and samba. jcr1 (893)
1397360 2015-03-26 19:24:00 Just a thought -- if you want to run Server 2008 & a Linux Server, you can always use Hyper-V in 2008 and install Linux as a virtual server. I've got hyper running on Server 2012 STD and that works fine.

OR if you dont like hyper-V use VMWare to do the same thing.

Hyper-V is free and comes built into windows. never done a linux virtual on the server, but it looks like you may need to do some extra work to get it to work :www.serverwatch.com OR www.hyper-v-mart.com

1397361 2015-03-27 00:32:00 If dedicated, would use CentOS but its created for stability, not running bleeding edge, so you would need to check if the dependencies for mldonkey are satisfied.

If its not going to be dedicated, any Linux of your choice should be able to do what you want.

Cheers,

KK

1397363 2015-03-30 00:34:00 Just use Win8\8.1, you can share your files fine, you can do Hyper-v for linux server if you like and it wont cost an arm and leg for server o/s SolMiester (139)
