1385851 2014-10-07 23:30:00 Daves probably out looking for that lost helicopter gary67 (56)
1385852 2014-10-07 23:49:00 I am not out looking for the chopper, best leave that to people who are trained in search and rescue.
Everyone here is very concerned of course, hopefully the pilot will be found safe and well.
The lack of a beacon signal suggests otherwise though. :(

The video of the river shows where I used to go whitebaiting, just upstream from the rapids that you can see, at around 1 minute into the vid.

I don't whitebait now as there are simply too many folk turning up here in the season and crowding the banks.

Besides, I think it is about time to end the tax free rort of selling endangered juvenile native fish on the black market (that will get me popular with the master-baiters, eh!)

1385853 2014-10-07 23:51:00 Could be a useful tool for spotting lying trout? Zippity (58)
1385854 2014-10-08 05:04:00 Karamea is one of the best trout rivers around especially near the "bend" we used to get them with 8mm Mauser or 303. I have walked down to Karamea from Dads place its wild country made really wild by the 1929 Murchison earthquake. prefect (6291)
1385855 2014-10-08 05:45:00 I have kayaked parts of the Karamea, not anymore though my arms too stuffed to allow that sort of thing anymore gary67 (56)
