By definition, the term 'murder' applies solely to the unlawful and premeditated killing of a human [source: The Oxford Dictionary Thesaurus] so vegans are on the back foot from the off, and so were you sailor. :D The killing of any animal or other living thing (other than humans) is not murder, and in fact neither is the killing of humans under a wide variety of circumstances, i.e. there are many circumstances under which one human can intentionally or accidentally bring to an end the life of another, but they are all either lawful, or fall within the purview of the law.
