1385880 2014-10-09 06:42:00 Just looked at a PC being used as a Server With XP, Original install date 04/09/2007, (never gets turned off - files accessed daily).Crikey - that's longevity for you! XP = best MS O/S ever to date? XP possibly better than any hardware it's installed onto. Greg (193)
1385881 2014-10-09 07:28:00 My old XP install: Original Install Date: 16/07/2010, 11:45:49 a.m.

Windows 7 install: Original Install Date: 25/02/2014, 6:09:37 p.m.
(Recent upgrade to 64-bit so I reinstalled)

Not that old, would be a total pita trying to re-install all my software though

1385886 2014-10-10 06:32:00 Crikey - that's longevity for you! XP = best MS O/S ever to date? XP possibly better than any hardware it's installed onto. The next oldest is my WHS, Original Install Date 19/08/2007

The XP is basically only acting as a file server, with some backups as well daily. If I were to do it again I'd install NAS software.

5972 What you can do is go into the C drive, right click on the Windows Folder, there is will tell you a date and time created, thats when it was also installed.

You can decode that time using Perl or anything that will decode 'number of seconds since Jan 1 1970'
