1385598 2014-10-04 06:57:00 i used to do electrical and we used to get tons of that.
you would spend all day tracing faults on goods that were to costly to fix and generally the goods are left at your workshop so you have to pay to dump them.
most guys these days have a minimum charge paid upfront before they will look at it.

I do specialist diagnostics for problems that in-house techs/engineers have so far been unable to resolve, and the range of technologies involved is huge, from legacy electrical/electronics to bleeding edge stuff . I've responded to their call and invested my time on travel time & costs and on-site diagnostics, plus research time and report preparation in my office, sometimes building special tools/diagnostic aids specifically for that site, so I expect to be paid in full whether I fix the problem or not .

I have been stiffed a couple of times by vanishing clients, but I am still watching for them and if they do reappear I'll be on their doorstep!

The 'stiffers' I love the most are those who find they need to call me again, so they receive my special 'Jesse James' discount, which ranges from +5 to +25% depending on how desperate they are, and how deep I think their pockets might be .

Cheers

1385600 2014-10-05 17:37:00 A Dr or dentist will charge you whether he fixes you or not, what's the difference just another trade.

if you loose your court case you still have to pay your lawyer too.
