| 1398026 | 2015-04-05 00:00:00 | Anyone using this programme?. It appears it will take some time to sort out the trackers that are not wanted. On one site I had 54 trackers. It appears that each tracker has to be stopped individually, and the page reloaded to see what effect it has, or am I missing something?. |

| 1398028 | 2015-04-05 02:26:00 | Hi - I have been using Ghostery for some time now - can't remember how long, but well over a year anyway. I find it good - no ads on here at all, but if I pause blocking and reload, yuck! - I see embedded ads on top of the page, on the bottom of the page - embedded within the forum posts etc etc No, you don't have to do individual trackers and cookies.... 1. Click the Ghostery icon and then click the gear (cog?) top right- then the 'options' tab on the left of the pane that opens. 2. That will open a new window with the 'General' tab selected - Down the third part of the page there is 'Blocking Options' 3. In the "Trackers" panel, you will see buttons to 'Select All' 'Select none' etc..... press the 'Select All' 4. Click the 'Cookies' Tab, and click the 'Select All' in there as well Go to the bottom of the page and click the 'Save' (I would have the 'Enable tracker library auto-updating' selected so it keeps up with the latest trackers to block) The other config options are in the 'advanced' tab - where the info balloon pops up and how long it stays etc. Then, if you are at a site that you think is not loading correctly/something not working etc, it's very easy to disable temporarily and reload the page to see - if it's a site you use often, you can then white-list it - but I haven't have many at all like that Cheers :) |
