1478825 2021-07-25 06:44:00 I have a ZTE modem which we have not used for quite a few years. It is 12.3 gigs in size with a USB connection, I presume USB2.
Should I throw it in the bin, or is it of some use - eg, as a flash drive, or am I getting carried away?

A modem, or router is not a storage device.
Bin it

1478827 2021-07-25 23:17:00 kinda is a storage device, they put some flash ram in them to store the software if I remember correctly. But not especially worth keeping, I bought 3 x 32GB USB 3 flash drives for under $20 total recently. dugimodo (138)

Where did you buy them, and what brand/model? Kind to share? :)

1478830 2021-07-27 03:19:00 was a bit longer ago than I thought. Was these ones www.pbtech.co.nz

They were $7.60 each when I bought them about a year ago (not that recent after all) which is a little over $20. Bad memory sorry. They are still pretty cheap though. My first 32GB USB 3 drive was over $100 way back when.
