| 1478132 | 2021-06-21 02:28:00 | Different computer hardware hardware gives different download speed? I have 3 desktop PCs, (they are all Intel i5s) all connected to the same Router via Ethernet cables. When running Speedtest.net. they all produce different readings. Aren't they supposed to produce same download readings? All have Win10 Pro installed with latest updates. |

Often they re NOT. Go to the Microsoft Store, type in Speed Search and select / download the Speedtest by Ookla, its the same software that Speedtest uses, Install it, use that its more accurate and reliable as its testing the actual direct Speed of your connection NOT via some browser which can and does give in consistent results. Infact when you run the speedtest.net site it tells you to get the windows app. Install the same app on all 3 computers they should be close to same results. I've confirmed its accurate ( or more so) when using a download manager it will bring through the downloads at approx Or Faster then the same speed as the app gives. |

My PC and brothers get close results (cable) but his tablet and laptop and ph get different results. Phone and tablet on wifi, ph better than tablet. Laptop, well it's wifi is a bit sad, better on cable. |

Of course wireless and Wired will be different, even all on Ethernet can differ slightly, Depending on the type of ports, most are 10/100/1000 Mbit / Gigabit ports for some time now, apart from really older Motherboards, But read the original again :) I have 3 desktop PCs, (they are all Intel i5s) all connected to the same Router via Ethernet cables. |

| 1478137 | 2021-06-23 23:01:00 | 10962 This is my speed test with the App; very similar results for all the 3 PCs . It shows the download speed is very good (or too good)? Never had so good results with Speedtest . net . However, I notice that my up load speed wasn't as expected . What are you views? I am with Spark's Unplan Max 120GB+ |

I am with Spark's Unplan Max 120GB+ From there website - they dont make it obvious . . . . . . "UP TO " 400 Mbps upload speed Its not unusual for Home internet plans to have lower upload speeds . Go to a Business Plan if you want faster upload :) |

| 1478139 | 2021-06-24 02:41:00 | Never had so good results with Speedtest.net. You often wont, its going through Browsers, notice all the Adverts on their site :waughh: Some browsers wont read the same as others. With the stand alone app, its not using any browser and if doing a speed test with it then download something with a Download Manager (internet Downloader) its very close or often quicker than the speed test result. |

| 1478140 | 2021-06-24 23:42:00 | What kind of CAT cable are you using? Try using CAT 7 cable, it gives higher speed than other types of cable. You can read this (silicophilic.com) article to know the maximum speed of other CAT cables. And depending on the type of cable you are using, you will get maximum speed. | AdelbertHeathcote (17758) | ||
