Just reading this morning, if it wasn't for the fact the guy Died it would be FUNNY as . Journalist and former Franklin County News editor Rex Warwood was spreading anti-Covid misinformation on his Facebook page shortly before dying from the illness last week . Decided to have a coffee and ended up waiting for the only other customer who had a laminated printout of her Covid pass unable to be read. Dim light, reflection of laminate. Bloody shambles. Eventually she was asked to wait so we could go in. No problem with the pass being on Google Pay. It was 10 minutes before she finally got to the counter. Problems ahead? Ken |

The cafe could have just looked at the customer's vaccine pass and let her in, they do not have to scan every pass: "Your My Vaccine Pass may be checked when you are at a venue that is following My Vaccine Pass requirements. It may be checked at the door, or when you are inside, for example seated at your table or at a counter. A business can look at your My Vaccine Pass or use the NZ Pass Verifier App to verify it." covid19.govt.nz A cafe I regularly visit that uses a digital loyalty card scanned my vaccine pass on my first visit after the traffic lights came in and I haven't been asked to show it since. It remains to be seen whether they ask for it again but I see no need to since they now know that I have a pass. |
