Whats the real issue here ? the public will simply stop using it . Just as what happened around the beginning of the year , most stopped scanning in before entering supermarkets , shops etc . As for the data . I bet that wont ever be deleted . But the govt has all that info regardless . There is some history to be learnt from. We were promised that our drivers licence cards (with photo) would NEVER be used as an ID card . hmmmmn |

Want to get into a pub or buy booze , and look too young .... then its the drivers lic thats used as ID & proof of age (as it has photo) Police ask you for ID, what are you going to show them ? assuming you dont want to make a fuss :) I dont see that as a big deal . of course its now used for ID. And why not , as it has a photo. But it was specially promised to never be used for that by the then Govt . I remember the fuss over it . |
