1481703 2021-10-31 18:51:00 There's nothing about gangs that a few hundred well trained men with AK47s couldn't fix. But maybe that would be going a bit too far? What would Mr Putin do? Blue Druid (4480)
1481704 2021-10-31 19:26:00 There is no way our current Government is going to make more than token efforts to control gangs. The gangs and their supporters along with those that think all they need is a bit of kindness and a cuddle every now and again control to many Labour/Green/Maori votes. Without both political and judicial support there is nothing much the police can effectively do to sort them out apart from the odd raid now and again so they can appear to be doing something.

It hurts me to have to point out Clive that the “Gangs” have survived and prospered under every Government since the 1950’s.

What I am talking about is a bunch of Protesters deliberately breaking the law right under the Police’s noses.

The Police might as well have gone and joined them for all the use they were.

1481705 2021-10-31 20:10:00 A peaceful protest you happen to disagree with is evil but the ones you agree with are OK?
A mass party gathering to get vaccinated hosted by the PM is just fine but a picnic in the Auckland Domain with 90% of the attendents obeying the mask/spacing rules is not. It really is a tricky virus if it can differenciate between the two!

The right to peacefull protest is what separates NZ from communist countries & those run by violent dictators
Some opinions here would fit perfectly in China or Russia . :banana

How is this protest any different than the many many many thousands of Ak'ers not following the laws : not social distancing, not wearing masks, not using the covid tracing app , breaking L3 rules , leaving Ak without good reasons

Do we send the riot squad down to the local park/beach & supermarket , battons out & breaking heads ? Ive seen plenty of people gathering at the beach .

So you’re saying that “The Right to Peaceful Protest” is the “Get out of Jail” card for breaking the laws already in place.

I must remember that.

It always seems to work for any anti whatever cause supported by the left wing of politics.

Yes I do and as you are well aware that clip has nothing to do with protests and even less to do with this thread.

1481711 2021-11-01 03:48:00 I fail to see how a gathering of 1000s in a manner likely to cause the spread of a potentially deadly disease could possibly be called a "peaceful protest" or "a picnic" by anyone capable of rational thought. Blue Druid (4480)

You just nailed it in your last 4 words..... "capable of rational thoughts"
