1477636 2021-06-09 08:12:00 Can't follow: How to drag it to the Google search box?

10938

Right click an empty portion of the tab bar, and select Customise Toolbar

10940

Then from the customisation window, drag the Search item into the toolbar, wherever you want to place it.

10941

Alternatively, you can go to Settings -> Search, and change the search bar option.

1477637 2021-06-09 22:00:00 I see what you mean with this latest update, I dont like it either

heres the fix
tools, settings, search : "add search bar in toolbar"
this will put the google search in a separate spot across from the adress bar, where it used to be (for me)

I dont know why FF keeps making changes that no one asked for and no one wanted
Many people dont want change, thats why we stick with FF .

If FF keeps making changes like this ( and like the changes with bookmarks ) , why would we not think : OK dont like it, so now no reason not to go to Chrome/Edge
We arnt using chrome/edge because we dont want change , so why is FF so making these changes ?

1477638 2021-06-09 23:01:00 No. It doesn't for me! bk T (215)
1477639 2021-06-09 23:42:00 No. It doesn't for me! Have you got any extensions / Themes installed that may be stopping it from reverting ??

Don't have the problem myself with FF, in fact the whole layout hasn't changed in years :) BUT that could be due to the Extension I have installed --- A Speed Dial similar to What Opera Has.

Just reading back over the posts to see what the problem is, - post / picture, number 5 Is that your Problem ??? That's the default start /opening page, not the Taskbar search as 1101 Instructed. ??

But some do .
If you don't want change, then untick Auto update and don't update it .
Your choice .

1477641 2021-06-11 04:47:00 How to roll back to the older version?
bk T, you could try the MyPal browser. It is basically an up to date browser for WXP, but it works fine on W10.
It comes from good parentage, Pale Moon, and is just like Firefox in appearance, usage, and options (preferences). It is kept updated, last update only earlier this year.
Updates can be turned off completely though, so you won't be pestered!

1477642 2021-06-12 03:52:00 pcuser42 has it right.
Did you follow all the steps?
You mentioned about dragging to the Google search box; but you need to drag it up to the address bar where you want it.

1477643 2021-06-14 22:00:00 After my upgrade yesterday...it updated my programs as well. Including Firefox.

Yes it is a Linux version, but not huge differences, still I don't see this omnibox thing....
