| 431821 | 2006-02-17 04:56:00 | Hi There, I am running Windows XP, and have Office XP. For some time now whenever I (a) use the paste function or (b) click the undo button several times, word just freezes and I have to shut it down through ctr-alt-del. I have done a complete reinstall (twice) but no change. Any suggestions? Thanks James. |

| 431822 | 2006-02-17 08:55:00 | james123456 Try searching for the file normal.dot. Change its name to normalold.dot. Open Word and then see if you still have the problems. Your old default settings will no longer be there and you will have to reinstate them. If the problem does not go away you can always delete the new normal.dot which is automatically created and rename the file normalold.dot back to normal.dot. Lyn (Oxie) |

| 431824 | 2006-02-19 04:53:00 | Hi, James. Perhaps my article on complete Word troubleshooting will help you. Also, please realize that bad printer or video drivers can affect Word, too, though it's less likely. www.officearticles.com Hope it helps! |
