431747 2006-02-17 03:39:00 Hi Guys,
How can I get links in Outlook Express to open in Firefox ?
It is the default browser.
( I ditched T'bird when it slowed to a crawl :horrified )

Cheers
Pete

431748 2006-02-17 04:05:00 Just an observation, but T-Bird didn't just slow to a crawl for nothing, it should be fixible.

I haven't used OE in yonks, but in the Internet Options or Tools Options or whatever it's called these days, there should be a spot to choose other app's and or browser. If you've done that, you might have to hack the registry, because between the IE, OE and Office chums, they'll be trying to defeat you at every step.

Me, I'd still use an alternative.

431750 2006-02-17 05:21:00 IE > Tools > Options > Programs tab. Select all the programmes you want associated with IE, do not choose OE. I have Open Office and, T-Bird selected for email, newsgroups. If you have any other options active, choose non-MS there too. Murray P (44)
431751 2006-02-17 05:37:00 ah hadn't thought to do it in IE..
did what you said but still no go...
restarted just in case...
don't worry, I can just paste them into FF as before
thanks for your help

Pete

EDIT
Had a wee look over at Mozillazine forums where is a fair bit of hand wringing about this issue :D
anyway it turned out FF was not my default doh :o

431752 2006-02-17 05:54:00 Ohh! I'd assumed it was, my bad.

BTW, make sure OE & IE are checked to ask if they are default, otherwise they can assume they are.
