431327 2006-02-16 23:46:00 Iam having problems when I leave ulead or a virus checker running, that the pc may shut down. I can only restart after having removed the power from the supply its self and reset this, and then I can restart the machine.
This is amd barton 2500
running xp with a gig of ram
I run 2 extra fans on the case and a upgraded cpu cooling fan
I am keep a I on the temps and cpu when using ulead vidio is between 49 50

431328 2006-02-17 00:12:00 Same thing whenever I hit the restart button. Unplug, restart! But my PC will only shut down when I am running Ulead MediaStudio Pro 8 while it's burning things to DVD.

Are there any hard ware conflicts? Does the PC shut down properly, or just "turn off?"

Xp looks to have shutdown correctly as I do not have to wait while it wants to check the drives.
But the power has to be totaly removed from the machine, turned off at the wall and back on before you can restart via the power button on pc.

431330 2006-02-17 02:17:00 I have come accross this myself a long time ago....Not sure what fixed it. Could be ACPI in the BIOS which is software controling the system for shutdown. Could even be the PSU. SolMiester (139)
