| 431097 | 2006-02-16 05:30:00 | I use Firefox for pretty much all my web browsing, however in the last month or so it's been driving me up the wall with one major problem. I keep it up to date, and use various extensions as well. From time to time, it won't load. You double-click the shortcut, and the computer makes the busy signal, yet Firefox does not appear on screen. Repeatedly trying this doesn't help - you have to go Alt-Ctrl-Del and terminate all the running Firefox.exe processes - one for each time you try to load the program - before trying again and hoping for the best. Sometimes it takes several attempts before it will start up. Does anybody know how to fix this? |

| 431098 | 2006-02-16 06:16:00 | This has happened to me twice in about three years so I've never worried about it, just fallen back on the simple reboot to unjumble the digital jockeys. Maybe it's a cumulative thing? Or maybe extensions. I don't use any extensions coz I think they're bells and whistles tho before someone sets my hair on fire I must say I've never really looked into them. Try stripping the browser down to basics and adding the extensions as all seems well. :2cents: |

| 431099 | 2006-02-16 06:53:00 | Are you using the latest ver 1.5.0.1?, this used to be a problem. When you close Firefox it seems to close but is still running next time you "restart" it doesn't. You look in task manager and as you said there is one more version running than you have tried to start. | zqwerty (97) | ||
| 431100 | 2006-02-16 07:53:00 | Cheers guys. I'm running Firefox 1.5.0.1. I've just updated some of the extensions - hopefully this might have done something. |
