430819 2006-02-16 05:08:00 Can I, using Word, get an email attachment written in Chinese, display it on my screen, and print it out?

I don't need to write Chinese, just receive as described.

A possible problem is that my (100% legal :) ) XP Home Edition with Office 2002 was interfered with when the university where I no longer work installed Word 2003 following a botch-up which was their fault. A free upgrade in one sense, but it means I can no longer insert CDs when requested - for example when installing requested files during the Regional and Language Options setup.

XP Home Edition but with Office Professional installed, as described above.

430820 2006-02-16 06:27:00 I'm pretty sure that for Office 2003, you only need the English version to be able to read Chinese. The fonts on your PC should contain the chinese characters via unicode ... although some people may be use their own special chinese fonts.

Read this (www.microsoft.com)

For Office XP you need language packs.

The option: Regional and Language Options is not related to Office but to Windows XP itself and as I understand it you only need it for typing in Asian characters...
