431394 2006-02-17 01:45:00 I've got a PC running in dual boot configuration with Ubuntu 5.11 installed on the second partition of the second HDD. The whole installation runs fine except for one gripe that it has; it doesn't seem to like my audio card. Whenever I boot up Ubuntu sometimes ALSA will pick up the card, install it and it'll run fine. Other times I get no sound at all no matter what I do. For some reason I can't even install the nvidia nforce drivers so I'm stuck with using ALSA's default drivers. Can anyone explain why this is happening and how I can fix it? technicianxp (6463)
431395 2006-02-17 02:49:00 this thread (ubuntuforums.org) may help. Sounds like the ALSA drivers are buggy, amke sure no other sound driver modules are confusing things. gibler (49)
