I have to put a disk in, eject it, at least once, then put it in agian somtime I have do do this 3 or 4x before they will reconize a disk. Also on my burner every time I put in a blank DVD it says wrong disk Help | maryunger3 (9654) | ||
| 431894 | 2006-02-19 03:48:00 | OK I'll say it first (to make up for my ignorane - as yet - of DVDs) It's doubtful anyone can answer this without more information. A good start will be the brand of DCD burner, type of DVD & software you're using to do the job. Plus your comp operating system. |

| 431895 | 2006-02-19 06:25:00 | the comp is a sony vaio the dvd rom is a panasonic sr-8585-b (8x max dvd/40x max cd) and the dvd burner is a dvd-r/rw by toshiba. The soft ware is roxio. Im running win xp. Ive replaced the cables, checked the master/slave pins, checked the cable on the main board but everything seems in order. They just dont like to read any disks unless you insert and eject over and over. I can play music cd if I start in media player. And some of the time it will play a dvd if I start in Power dvd. | 431896 | 2006-02-19 07:19:00 | Have you tried updating the drivers for the DVD drives, if that doesn't work try removing the dvd drives in the add remove hardware section of your control panel, and then rebooting windows should pick up ther drives and ask for the drivers |
