432318 2006-02-20 00:05:00 What I am wondering .. is I have a huge .doc file with alot of txt and phone numbers in it. Is it possible to weed out the text and certain numbers and only keep the nubmers that start with a certain prefix .. Trouble is that the nubmers look like this 021-xxx-xxx and 025-xxxx-xxx ProMaz (34)
432319 2006-02-20 18:50:00 Have you tried using the wildcard * in you filter searches, eg 025-*? This may take a while considering you only want to keep a few of the numbers. Jen (38)
432320 2006-02-20 23:36:00 Do you want to keep only those numbers, or the lines containing the numbers? Presumably you want some way of linking the numbers with some identification?

Does word have a way of finding all lines containing given text (the "021" or "025" and selecting them to be pasted somewhere?

I'd use grep on a plain text file. :D
