i have a real annoying problem with playing some videos which i download form the internet. Now i have windows xp and i have no viruses on it. the problem is that i know the video should be like 15 minutes long but it only shows that its a minute long. and when the minute finishes the sound keeps on going but the video stops. now most of these videos i downloaded them from programs like imish or limewire. it doesnt say that the file is corrupted or anything and i tried more than one program to open and the same thing happens. i also had a video which used to work perfectly fine before but then after i formatted the pc and brought it back to the way it was exactly, the same thing happens to it. What could be the problem? |

most likly, damaged movie. some players/codecs will actually play damaged files ok, others won't. |

Copy video to cd then try to play on another PC, this will tell you whether the problem is your PC or the source material. |

catch is a different pc may have different codecs etc so it may play it fine. best bet is to open in an editing tool. a lot of them have error checking. |
