433106 2006-02-23 08:06:00 Hi there.

Once Ive open a pic file with PSP7, added a layer and made a outline tracing, how do I then remove the background pic leaving the tracing and saving it as a seperate pic file.

I cant seem to delete the base picture. Can I save a Layer as an independant image file, that would be another way around the problem.

Thanks.

John in Mosgiel.

433107 2006-02-23 08:14:00 Use "promote to layer" for the background - right click on it or off a menu bar (I forget which). Then just turn off the background in the layer toolbar, click the small glasses.

Then export out a jpeg or gif, or save as a png. Keep your master as a psp file for further use.

Hope this helps :)

One more thing, can I smooth out the line tracing somehow?

Cheers..........John :-)

Did you use the draw tool or the paint tool?
I think you can with the draw tool, need to scratch around to see how

Set the curve tracking, the bigger the number the more curvy the line
Gee I learned something!
