| 432701 | 2006-02-22 08:11:00 | I,ve tried nero showtime, winamp, and nero showtime. I'd forgotten I even had quicktime, never had a use for it. But thanks it works fine. I'd still like to fix media player though, I want to be able to convert to other formats and both nero & TMPGenc seem to share decoders with MP10. No luck with Microsoft, lot of similarish problems but no fixes that work for me. Wish I hadn't updated media player now |

| 432703 | 2006-03-16 02:35:00 | For what it's worth, I get exactly the same problem. The AVI plays the clip with sound but a black screen. Options in the faq that has been mentioned (searching for a codec) only work if the clip actually fails. WMP10 is quite happy thinking it is displaying the thing correctly. I would like to get it working because I want to use the Windows Movie Maker tool to stick 'em together. Would be keen to hear if you gat a result. cheers Mike |

| 432704 | 2006-03-16 07:13:00 | Hmmm....Whats the chance that the camera is making an AVI file that requires the commercial Mpeg2 codec (usually for playback of DVD's) to playback the file? Grab a PowerDVD demo, If you can then view the files, it was indeed the codec... |
