432929 2006-02-22 11:55:00 Have you tried plugging it in? Theres a chance winxp might run it straight away i.e. load drivers for you.

The best policy is shoot first, ask questions later :)

432931 2006-02-22 12:45:00 I'm live in scotland...so i guess that doesnt apply to me..

I did plug it in and it said new hardware detected...and went to find a driver but couldnt connect to the net...

Now when i plug it in it doesnt even recognise the new hardware..
it aslo doesnt have brand name on it so i cant use dial up to download the driver :annoyed:

432932 2006-02-22 18:28:00 Try running a system information program and see if it can identify the modem.

Belarc - free system information (www.belarc.com)

Is there any information about the modem on a label underneath it?

432933 2006-02-22 18:57:00 Does ebay still have a record of the transaction? If so, point us to it and we might be able to identify it for you. Also, the seller might be able to help. Once identified, it'll be easy to find drivers for it. Greg (193)
