| 433793 | 2006-02-25 19:15:00 | my friend's laptop wont boot, not even with f8 for safe mode. we just get "press f2 for setup or f12 to boot with LAN" HELP! Is this the end of the line for her PC? there must be a solution, i need to be her knight-in-shining-armour :) thanks |

| 433798 | 2006-02-26 20:10:00 | See if the hdd appears in the BIOS of the laptop. Well, it should, since there's only one hdd. And see if its configured as the bootdisk. If there's a floppy / other booting device on this laptop. Are you pressing / holding down F8 as soon as you reboot ?? |

| 433800 | 2006-02-28 17:11:00 | woah, thankfully it finally let me boot to safe mode (don't know why - didn't work on previous 20 attempts). anyway, restarted in last known safe config, installed spybot and avg for her, ran both (160 spyware cases!!). Job done :thumbs: Thanks everyone |
