433123 2006-02-23 09:26:00 Anyone here had anything to do with the HP dx2000mt supplied by Telecom School Connection points?

The Problem .

I have installed XP Pro and updated via windows update . All going well so far . I join to the Server 2003 Domain and all goes well . I log in with my domain admin account and I get assigned a GP with limited rights . I have run gpupdate and formatted 3 times . My GP is not applying . I have admin rights but the GP is blocking run, my computer etc . I am getting the below error messages .

Error 4356
The COM+ Event System failed to create an instance of the subscriber partition:{41E90F3E-56C1-4633-81C3-6E8BAC8BDD70}!new:{6295DF2D-35EE-11D1-8707-00C04FD93327} . CoGetObject returned HRESULT 8000401A .

Error 560
Accesses: READ_CONTROL
Connect to service controller
Lock service database for exclusive access

This does not affect my login on other PC's on the domain . I have even blocked inheritance to my GP and still the same problem . I am now doing a fresh install on another one to see if it is a hardware fault .

Interesting, the other one has just stopped with an error on format . Maybe these are just crap PC's . Well they are HP!!

433124 2006-02-23 20:19:00 It sounds like your the domain admin for the network.

I guess you did a Google search on this already, and came up empty.

I found this:

"you go into your 'Local Security Policy' from the Administrative tools, and then in the left viewer pane, expand "Local Policies" and select 'User Rights Assignment' - in the right viewer pane, there's an option called 'Increase Scheduling Priority', add your test user to this policy then logoff and login again and see if it goes away.

Microsoft states that this error is generated when 3 conditions are met, and that SP2 solves this 'know problem'. The other option if you don't want to install SP2, is to turn off audit policy changes. More info here:
