| 433706 | 2006-02-26 01:08:00 | Indeed Foxy, getting around to backup is something we usually leave too long, especially after reading the day before in the latest PC world about backing up!!!! And not saving into my documents is certainly something to think about Well Rob that restoration program had mixed success, in case you had forgotten it does indeed run from the jumpdrive and not need actual install onto the comp which is really good, It saw all the files in question and we restored them through the network onto another comp, only about half of the photos can be opened however and also mixed success with the wav files etc. Unfortunately I may have realised too late that an automatic defrag program was on lol. Better than nothing though, thanks heaps would there be any point trying to retrieve the unopenable photos a different way, or should I lay them to rest? |

| 433707 | 2006-02-26 01:26:00 | Unless you are very good at handling files at the bit level, it's probably a waste of time. Even if you are very good at handling files at the bit level it's probably a waste of time and effort. :( The files which won't open are either fragments of picture files, or fragments of other files which happen to have been defragmented to where picture files used to be. |
