| 433708 | 2006-02-25 08:08:00 | No matter which media player I use (WMP, MediaPlayerClassic, Videolan) I get problems with .wmv,.mpg and . avi After about 1 minute the pic. starts to "stutter" then freeze but the audio is OK. Then its back to normal until about 3 mins. later and it starts all over again. I get a similar problem playing DVDs using Videolan and SonicCineplayer. I'm using XP on a laptop with PentiumIII, 650MHz, 320RAM and 6Gigs free space on my 20gigHard drive. The problem has only recently occurred. Does anyone know of a diagnostic I can run to try and identify the problem. And Yes, I regularly scan for nasties. Martynz |

Also check that your DVD optical drive has DMA enabled. To do this go into Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager. Look for the IDE controllers and then right-click > properties on the channel which the DVD drive sits. Look under the Advanced Settings for the transfer mode. |
