434155 2006-02-27 04:09:00 Every day I get an email about VIAGRA and it is annoying but not FATAL....How ever my cousin in Australia has a FREE Program called SPAM FIGHTER which he swears by....

"Free Anti Spam Filter for Outlook and Outlook Express
SPAMfighter has partnered up with Microsoft to build the strongest, safest and most effective anti spam tool on the market. So if you use Outlook or Outlook Express and you want to get rid of spam, just install SPAMfighter. And if you use it at home, it's 100% free.
Whenever new mail arrives, it will automatically be tested by SPAMfighter, and if it's spam, it will be moved to your spam folder. If you receive a spam mail that is not detected, click on a single button, and the spam mail is removed from the rest of the 1.068.731 SPAMfighters in 207 countries/areas in seconds.

I know my server CLEAR has a program of its own but I still get VIAGRA.
Any recommendations or other advice would be greatly appreciated..... :badpc:

434157 2006-02-27 04:34:00 I put "SPAMFIGHTER & MAILWASHER BEST" into GOOGLE and this is what I got.

Spam filter review - Spambully, Spamdrop, Ihatespam, Mailwasher and SPAMfighter.
The largest Scandinavian IT-magazine "Komputer For Alle" made a spam filter test in September 2004.
Spambully, Spamdrop, Ihatespam, Mailwasher and SPAMfighter was tested against each other on Efficiency, usability and price.

The test winner was SPAMfighter with 9 out of 10 points.

Among the comments was:

"Best and Free"

"SPAMfighter is clearly the best in the test. The installation is simple and you don't have to worry about the setup."

"During the 3 days SPAMfighter was tested, not one single spam mail got through the filter - and what is maybe more important; SPAMfighter did not send any "real mails" in the spam filter."

Conclusion:
"The program has not that many features, but it does the job, no more no less."

Any comments? :badpc:

434158 2006-02-27 04:54:00 Use Spampal or Poptray (Which is also an email notifier).

Blacklist the whole domain / isp.

Bet you wont get a lot of spams then.

Well, I tried Spamfighter, and lots of spam got through. It was better than Paradise's filters by far, but you don't have to be very good to be better than Paradise at identifying spam. Basically, they suck.

However, I got so many coming through I gave up on it. Especially when all the junk email from Spamfighter came through nagging me that my free subscription was coming to an end, and to sign up for Spamfighter Pro NOW!

I have gone back to Mailwasher and now I have more control over the process. Plus it is a Kiwi designed product!
