434097 2006-02-27 00:19:00 I have just bought a new motherboard (should hopefully arrive in a day or three) that has a couple of SATA connectors on it. Now I have several (at least 4, maybe more?) PATA HDDs - is it possible to buy an adaptor of some sort so that I can attach my PATA HDDs to the SATA connector, since I can only connect 4 drives to the 2 PATA connectors, and two of those drives will be optical???

Will my idea work, or is there nothing available that can do this for me?

Cheers,
Mike.

434098 2006-02-27 00:26:00 You could try one of these (www.dse.co.nz)

Or buy USB 2 enclosures, if you want to use 4 IDE hdd's.

434100 2006-02-27 00:42:00 You'd be better off buying a PCI card with another pair of IDE channels or put the money toward a new drive. PaulD (232)
