| 434117 | 2006-02-27 00:18:00 | could be a virus.. dont know details of my pc i am at internet cafe now ... all pretty standard for a cheap pc... anyway getting error loading operating system and dont know where to start to fix... operating system is XP WITH SERVICE PACK 2 and i have the original windows cd which i have tried to boot with .. it gets to recovery then stops... |

| 434118 | 2006-02-27 00:30:00 | Well, I would wait until u get back home and post the exact error its showing on the screen. Can u boot into safe mode?? If u can, I would somehow download hijackthis, unzip this file run it and click on scan and save a log. And copy & paste the log here. |

| 434123 | 2006-03-01 08:08:00 | i am not explaining myself very well... i went out for a cuppa... pc went down.. restarted.. and only got as far as ''error loading operating system' couldnt start in in any mode safe or otherwise...panic set in tried all sorts nothing doing...tried to run recovery on my windows cd it just stalled and went nowhere either...couldnt get it to boot in safe or any thing.. friend suggested hardware problem so i unplugged everything including the hard drive replugged everything and many hours later got it to start in safe mode... tried to run anti virus but no... now i have now hardware and i cant install hardware... seems like parts of windows is missing... i am too scared to do anything with it cos the only windows i have is xp home with no service pack 2 and i dont know if i run that will i lose everything on my pc..it says if i install the older xp i will loose files and settings... is that just windows ones or all files.....at present i can get into it but i cant reinstall any hardware the devicemanager is empty...so hense no modem to do a windows upgrade or fis antivirus... |
