434974 2006-03-02 03:20:00 I have found that Antivirus programs (Nortons, McAffee, and AVG) with outgoing E-Mail checking enabled often take so long to do the check that the 'Hang up after sending and receiving' option in Outlook Express sometimes does the disconnect before the Antivirus program completes the check. This results in the Antivirus program being unable to send the message when it completes the check, so it reports a failure.
To correct this I have had to untick the Outlook Express auto-disconnect option, but in most cases this means the user has to do the disconnect manually from then on.
On my own computer (using AVG) I have disabled the OE auto-disconnect but my AVG program seems to be doing the auto disconnect for me. I can't recall how I accomplished this nor can I do it on other computers I've worked on! Can anyone help?

I have my antivirus set to not scan outgoing mail, but make sure it checks for incoming mail.
