| 434837 | 2006-03-01 01:00:00 | i found a hp pavilion 4512 on the side of the road and it was in good nick so i took it home, it didnt hav a harddrive but i hav a spare 40gb one, but i cant seem to get the pc to recongnise any size drive, i downloaded a bios flash from HP but it says it cant update because of HImem.sys manager. i thought that was a Dos thing. the 40 hard drive is a Seagate barracuda 7200:7 st340014a any ideas? | aidanmaz (7180) | ||
| 434838 | 2006-03-01 02:14:00 | Dont most HP BIOS updates extract to a bootable floppy? There's nothing else on the disk besides the BIOS update files. Well, the last time I did a BIOS update for an HP system, I cant remember seeing himem.sys on it. Is this what u did? |
