434675 2006-02-28 22:49:00 Although I can download updates for V 1.0.3 they will not install. I get the following "Firefox encountered a problem and not all components could be extracted".
The latest PC World has the latest version. What are my options? Can I load over the top or do I uninstall V 1.0.3 first before reloading.
Plain English help would be much appreciated

If you have already tried to update Firefox and encountered problems, then it is probably best to uninstall your current version and do a clean install of Firefox.

For safe keeping, make sure you backup your bookmarks before uninstalling. The easiest way of doing this is to go Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks > File > Export. Save the bookmarks.html to your desktop. If you do lose your bookmarks, then it is easy to import them back into Firefox from the saved copy on the desktop.

Let us know if you run into any problems. :)
