| 435430 | 2006-03-04 09:38:00 | hi folks the other day, my connection with wired country dropped and i wasnt able to receive signal . im connected via dhcp to them with no username and password with a static IP address . contracter came out with his laptop to check and was able to connect fine with no problems , but when i connected, just says limited or no connectivity . ive got the wired country ethernet cable running straight into the built in LAN on the pc . so i tried disabling and then re enabling, same thing . disabled the built in lan in the bios and tried a pci network card and same thing, cant connect limited or no connectivity . firewall permissions are fine, well it doesnt connect even when theres no firewall . system is running sweet and i cant understand why theres no connection at all . Im not sure whether this has anything to do with it, but at the moment ive gone back to the built in lan . overtime, ive enabled and reenabled the lan and also now and then reinstalled the drivers for this lan . in network connections it showing as local area connection 12, i guess ive tried reinstalling drivers for this lan 12 times, in device manager , its showing as fast ethernet nic #3, even though its the only lan connected . any ideas folks? running winxp pro with sp2, 512 megs ddr400 ram, athlon 2500xp, as of a couple of weeks ago , was up to date with windows updates , hotfixes etc . help me please :-( |
