2006-03-04 07:12:00 | Frankly if you are only doing 50 prints a year I wouldn't worry to much about price but I would go for quality. The camera shop in Grey St (its just changed its name and I can't recall what its called now) does a pretty good job at I think 60C a print. | tutaenui (1724) | |
2006-03-05 01:36:00 | I use fotopost.co.nz Now 32c each 6" x 4" on Kodak paper. You can send a CD or send online. One point, they charge $2.50 for posting back. | gradebdan (2186) | |

2006-03-05 01:49:00 | the warehouse use kodak machines etc so they are the same as any other lab. just because they sell cheap stuff doesnt mean their photo service is crap - i've taken night shots (as a test) to them & they did better than the local 1hr lab, which cost more. for the original poster - get the canon ip1600, prints photos & only costs just over $100. sending or uploading photos etc is mucking around. | quarry (252) | |
2006-03-05 01:51:00 | In the US I used snapfish which is online and they send you the pics and that was 12c a photo . All I have seen here are places that chage around 40c per pic . Is that 12c per photo US or Kiwi dollars? I think you will find that the places offering photos at 40c per pic will be for bulk loads, eg for 20 photos and more each time . Frogprints have a special running before Christmas whereby you can send them your CD of photos (100 or more) and get them printed at a good price . Can't remember the exact price now but I think it was around 40c per pic . The rest of the time they have cheaper rates the more you get printed . I have used Frogprints myself and find them excellent, especially with their option for 6 x 4½" prints which means pics don't get cropped .

2007-06-30 08:29:00 | Self printing would not be economical unless you print larger than 6x4 inch. The bigger the size the bigger the savings are after ink and paper. Economical is really using A4 and print 4 slightly smaller 6x4 inch and cut out yourself. Basically if you want 6x4 paper and ink cost is gonna cost even more than a lab. And, you have not even used the savings to pay off printer cost. Self print - if you want more control, instant printing and like as a hobby or print large sizes. Ink and paper can be 50 or 33% lesser abroad. But again these are bulky stuff that raises the freight cost, best if you go there and bring back.
