435721 2006-03-05 20:41:00 Hey i was wondering if someone could help me out. My dvd drive just suddenly dissapeared from my comuter and i cant even load any dvds anymore.

can someone help me out?

435722 2006-03-05 20:56:00 I would check the BIOS, see if it shows here, and if it doesnt, check the power / data cable in the case. It may have come out. Speedy Gonzales (78)
435723 2006-03-05 22:19:00 Do you have any other optical drives apart from the DVD drive?
It's either dead, a dodgy cable, a loose cable or the registry is corrupt
If you're sure the cables are ok, then the first thing I'd try is Doug Knox's drive fix (assuming your using XP)

and under properties is says

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

thanks hopefully someone can help me get this working becouse im really not to good with computer problems thanks

435725 2006-03-06 02:26:00 looks like there are some other devices with problems lower down with problems as well, what are they?
Try right clicking each device and select uninstall, reboot and let XP redetect them

that's unusual as dougknox's reg fix does exactly what the MSKB does, did you reboot after applying the fix?
