435690 2006-03-05 04:25:00 Hey guys,

I recently had to do a reformat of my system. And ever since there seems to be a overall general lag. It happens randomly. When searching the web, playing a game, mp3s etc. The whole system seems to pause and then catch back up to itself. I have no hardware issues that windows sees, and all my drivers seem to be current. Any ideas?? I can give system specs if need be. Thanks

435691 2006-03-05 09:45:00 Does this motherboard use a SIS chipset??

If it does, these mobos are known to lag. I've got one such mobo here, which has the same symptoms are yours.

435692 2006-03-05 20:45:00 Dose your MB use a intel chipset. You may have to install the intel application asselerator drivers off your mb cd, or get the latest from the intel website.

435693 2006-03-05 20:52:00 Not all Intel mobos need the Intel accelerator drivers .

They can conflict with some programs . I havent got it on this mobo, which is Intel based .

Unless Lord hasnt installed the SMB drivers / inf drivers . These are usually needed, so the system picks up the devices in the system .

435694 2006-03-06 05:49:00 well I have an intel board. Its a dell model computer, and i know that the board is not really supported on intel's site. doesnt even have the serial number listed as one of their product, even though there is a intel brand in the mobo. I wouldnt think that it would be a motherboard problem. when the system was new, i didnt have this problem. and i used my restore disks, but if yall think that could the problem, then i will look into it. any ideas where i can get these intel drivers??
