| 435969 | 2006-03-06 12:37:00 | I am using an Epson stylus C43UX on an XP Home system. The colour ink has run out, and the thing won't print black only text! Is there any way to make it print, until I can get a new colour cartrige? :annoyed: | Vince (406) | ||

You could try removing the colour cartridge, give it a shake and reinstall it. I did have some success once by doing this as it fooled the level indicator in thinking that there was still ink in the colour cartridge. |

I bought DSE brand replacement ink cartriges today. I will not purchase anything with the epson name again. So there! :yuck: |

The Epsom 830U has that option, but still uses a small quantity of Colour when the Black only is ticked and will not print Black when the Colour is empty.Ron |

| 435976 | 2006-03-09 07:31:00 | Have a similar problem with my Epson CX 3500 Multi function. Colour ink was running out at the same rate as the black even though no colour printing was being done. A call to an Epson help line suggested selecting use black ink only. Did this, replaced all 4 cartridges, and now same is happening again, except that colour is running out at about one and a half times the rate of black. Another call to Epson, this time by phone. The person I spoke to was not able to suggest anything except to return printer to the retailer for them to see to. Not good sercice me thinks. Any other suggestions? RNY. |

| 435977 | 2006-03-09 07:38:00 | it sounds like a fault with the printer. If it is, there is nothing you can do except return it. | Greven (91) | ||
