| 436880 | 2006-03-09 04:16:00 | With the PS2 being bust (and noone replying to emails sent) I'm looking at getting into PC gaming. With this in mind, I am wondering a few things: 1 - at this stage I am looking at getting into RPG prefer not shoot em ups but more the swords and sorcery genre... any recommendations? (I have looked at WoW but can't really justify paying a certain amount each month just to play online) 2 - what kind of hardware should I be looking at (joystick? game controller similar to PS controllers?) what? I am not looking for the latest games (my graphics card is 64 MB GeForce4 MX440 - so it won't handle the latest anyway) but would like to try something I am completely new to gaming (well played AOE-Age of Kings and MS Flight for a bit, but they arent my type of game) All advice welcome |

| 436881 | 2006-03-09 04:37:00 | I would recommend "The Elder Scrolls III - Morrowind". It has been out for a while so you can pick it up pretty cheaply. It doesn't have demanding graphic card requirements. It has great graphics, and I really enjoyed the challenge of it. Used to spend hours each evening playing it. :p Recommended Specs: 800 MHz processor or faster 256 MB RAM NVidia GeForce2 GTS or ATI Radeon 7500 or faster graphic card 1 Gig free hard drive space |

| 436882 | 2006-03-09 05:11:00 | THIEF!!!!!!!!! And Thief 2 and Thief 3 and System Shock 2. And all 600+ total Fan missions made for the four games. Zombie biting goodness! JOIN US NOW! (pictureposter.allbrand.nu) Thief runs fine on a MX440 apart from some of the more 'beautiful FM's' Otherwise try and find some old games to play. (does letting someone borrow the game, finish it, and return it constitute piracy?) |

As long as you give them the origional disk & don't keep a backup, then when they are finished, they give back the origional disk & don't keep a backup then it won't be piracy. Of course, if you forget to delete the image you made so you didn't have to swap CDs all the time, noone is going to know but you. |

If so, with WINE? or Cedega? |

| 436886 | 2007-12-19 07:44:00 | I finished BioShock yesterday and I have to give it 4 thumbs up (2 hands, 2 feet). Not like any other shooters I've ever played. Mainly because the game incorporates politics-bashing and actually makes you think with your morality. Most other shooters just involve terrorists or aliens or mutants, but BioShock projects human flaws and human delinquency into a fun yet depressing game. There are essentially 2 endings, one is if you make the good choice - and one if you make the evil choice. Most people say the good ending sucks - but I loved it. Maybe I'm just a sentimental weakling, but I guess that tells me I still have my good conscience? EDIT: woops - didn't see you only have MX440. Disregard my post. :p In that case - how about the first Black and White? It's an addictive game, I can tell you that. If you can't find any in stores/TM, I can lend you mine for a month. Here's a wiki page on the game: en.wikipedia.org |

| 436889 | 2007-12-19 08:37:00 | Played System Shock 2?:xmouth: Nah, never. I'm not looking to play older games, though. I've spent most of my money on my PC and want to make the most out of her by playing games that bring my PC down to her knees. :D And at the moment she's hating Crysis. |
