436546 2006-03-08 01:36:00 I have assigned a cell to automatically enter and update todays date. - easy.

I have other cells that I have coloured green to indicate training has been completed and within that cell a date that indicates the date the training certificate is valid until. - easy

I am looking to enter a formula that checks the dates within each cell and if todays date is past the date in the cell I would like the cell colour to change from green to red for example - the tricky bit.

Can anybody help me with this one ? I have searched the functions but cannot see the solution.

thanks

436547 2006-03-08 02:20:00 Use the FormulaIs option and where A1 is the target cell...

=A1>TODAY()

If your looking at other cells besides the one that you need to check for the date then use $ in front of the column to make it absolute for the column.

=$A1>TODAY()

436549 2006-03-08 03:42:00 Go to "Format / Conditional Formatting" and enter the approriate conditions against the cell you want to colour code/change. Cptn Hotshot (3904)
