437255 2006-03-10 22:25:00 It's time to call on the Experts'.

Am trying to access the following site:

www.genesreunited.co.uk

That's as far in as it goes.

The word "Done" appears in the bottom left hand corner and on a blank page.

Have not touched Cookies, Internet Options or anything else.

Done virus checks always even with Housecall!.

Any help greatfully received.

437259 2006-03-10 23:03:00 Who is your ISP?

I found Telestra blocking some sites with their proxy server. Changed to another proxy server and no issue. They said it was an issue with routing but after 4 months got sick of it and changed ISP to IHug. No issue

437260 2006-03-10 23:12:00 Thanks Guys,

IE6 & Xtra.

Of course you will all get through with your computers.

I should have put a bit more detail though:

Went into the ChCh Public Library to get a postal address, international telephone books are now tooo expensive and PhoneNumbers.com does not give an address.

Librarian then logged onto the site and I used my usual email and password and bingo, locked out on their 3 monitors.

Try it!! whoops must not give out my personal details here, must I.

Have tried the sites 2 help facilities: info@genesrenunited.co.uk and contact@genesrenunited.co.uk and had replies but no solutions.

A penpal in Kent, England has just sent me a phone no.

Now I've written a "book", but it's sure a mystery. I don't think it's a scam site either, I paid a $NZ20.00 sub last Oct 05.

Thanks again folks.

Lurking.

Ps. There was 1 other person who is also a member of the site and has the same problem, "blocked".

437261 2006-03-11 03:56:00 ... so, if Firefox is installed in the public library's computer, had you tried it out yet?

Cheers :)

437262 2006-03-11 22:33:00 JK thanks for reply. The people (3) on the Info desk, did the input and I only put in my email address and password. So not sure what browser they use.

My thoughts would be anything but IE!.

Ps. If it were me, I would retain a scandsk /restore with a distant backup date, to cater for cases. This has been ongoing now for over a month.

437263 2006-03-12 00:37:00 Bi John, thanks for that, my son=in-law reckons we should ditch Xtra and go over to Clear.

I think Xtra may have the pricker for us anyway, had 26 emails this morning, mostly genealogy and they send 2 emails telling me we are overloaded, yet when we were on holiday from 20-28 Feb there were over 120 of them, managed to borrow son's pc in Feilding and clean out a large proportion of them, without a complaint.

Got into Genesreunited site at 1pm and silly me used my usual logon details instead of joining up as a new member.

It's a bl**dy good site for family history, have made contact with 2 distant cousins too, 1 goes back to 1677.

437264 2006-03-14 02:28:00 Thanks to all who responded to my Access problem.

Problem solved, the reason, as you would have gathered the site was a family history site and for some reason my personal entry was not in there, and just like pressf1 says "Welcome Lurking" or Lurking listed as on line.

How my family tree got zapped is anyones guess, it now has to be downloaded again to their site.

Thanks again.
