2015-04-17 05:03:00 | A friend has suggested a free VPN which would allow access to UK TV - any comments or suggestions re this please? I saw on the ExPat UK TV link that you can obtain one from there for four countries (UK, US, Oz, Canada) for 9 pounds sterling a month. TIA Bryden

2015-04-17 06:46:00 | That page - comments seemed to go with DNS4Me - sorry but I don't have a clue what that stands for - grin.... there seems to be a minimal charge and as you directed me there, I am assuming you say this is an improvement/better than VPN? I have a smart TV through which I have Sky.... wondering if I go with DNS or VPN, whether I would be better to have another TV specifically for offshore content.... then I could attach (presumably?) a DVD recorder as I am assuming UK TV programmes of interest may be on at some unsociable time given our time difference.... or would I have to watch them at their UK scheduled time.... so many questions - sorry Bryden

2015-04-18 00:51:00 | Been using Hola as a Extension through Firefox/Palemoon,not TV yet Ditto-- Our Media center (With W8.1) which is connected to the TV has the same setup, SWMBO decided she would go looking :waughh:------- She figured out how to work it :annoyed: LOL - Now more free medical programs, all from the UK and USA , and even the 15 second ads aren't to bad. | wainuitech (129) | |
2015-04-18 03:40:00 | Lawrence, do you mean that you are using Hola and watching on your computer but not on the TV? Wainuitech - surely it is not all medical programmes, or is that your Significant Other's fave? | Bryden (4161) | |
2015-04-18 03:49:00 | Yep,watching on computer but would be easy to able to watch on TV with the various methods out there (HDMI/Chromecast/Media Centre etc) but will not bother yet To Add, to sign up to iplayer they wanted a UK Post Code (choose any, mines a Fish&Chip Shop HA HA HA)
