2015-04-11 22:39:00 | Ok, have used Acronis WD edition to clone my HDD to SSD . Works but after day or so, happened twice now after a second clone . Starts up and stops at logo STARTING WINDOWS . if I reset and choose repair mouse cursor appear and just black screen . I do photography, have a monitor calibrator before fine with old HDD using maybe a Vista 64 but driver . EASE US works but calibrator doesn't works says not connected during calibration . Hence I use Acronis . Reinstall Windows? If it doesn't it doesn't right? Buy new calibrator or maybe this computer getting old it's from 2009 . Windows 7 Pro 64 .

2015-04-11 23:25:00 | If the original HDD works OK but the problem start with the SSD, assuming the SSD is OK then it could be Acronis hasn't cloned right and corruption is occurring . Personally I dont like Acronis, seen way to many failures with it . I actually use AOMEI Partition Assistant to do clones and Active@ to image ( customers drives) , it has an option to clone from HDD to SSD . The problem seems to have many causes, but the most common ones are bad graphic drivers and OS corruption . Will the SSD boot if you try in safe mode or do you still get the black screen ? One quick thing to try, sometimes EXPLORER doesn't start at the black screen press ctrl+alt+Del, if task manager opens - New Task - explorer . exe, if the desktop appears try running sfc /scannow to see if it detects any problems . Sometimes if you boot from the W7 DVD and run chkdsk /r on the drive that "sometimes" fixes it as well .

2015-04-12 00:43:00 | Cloning is not 100% reliable, especially from HDD to SSD. Last time I did it I tried 3 different programs and did a repair to the final one to make it work (was Aomei that worked best so +1 to Wainui for that). On top of which you may need to check the partition alignment after cloning as SSDs require it to be right for best performance and often cloning does not align correctly. Guide for how to check and correct with Aomei here www.ssdhdd.org I found a tool that did it for me last time but I've forgotten what it was, aomei seems to have it covered though.

2015-04-12 02:18:00 | Reinstall haha . Make image so it's loaded to same size drive . Safe mode didn't work rebooted then asked repair or boot normally . Boot Windows rescue CD and says recenv . exe corrupt on my second physical data drive . Please run chkdsk . After pressing series of ok . Well actually it said E drive seems it's my C drive cos it told me my program file folder is corrupted too . Doing startup repair now .

2015-04-12 02:30:00 | recenv.exe = Windows Recovery Environment, if the message says theres corruption then its possible the cloning software didn't work 100% | wainuitech (129) | |
2015-04-12 02:35:00 | Many of the program file folders corrupted too so it is the SSD . 15min still scanning startup repair . Reinstall it is .
