1387200 2014-11-08 19:54:00 According to the MM about 5000 people were involved in the TPPA protests. That is roughly 0.01% of the population, the other 99.99% think everything is just fine. I fail to see why that protest even makes it onto the news.
The people who think that the government should be giving them all the details of the TPPA negotiations while they are still under discussion are the same people who appear to think that it is evil for the SIS/GSIB to be used to protect us against possible ISIS threats and the like. The logic of that is beyond me.
We live in a democracy and I can see little point in sulking just because the last election did not produce the result any individual desired.

1387202 2014-11-08 20:12:00 if that's what the country really wanted then it deserves what it got, a dictator ignoring the wishes of the people unless it makes said dictator and friends richer

Some of the blind are saying We live in a democracy -- the way key and his dealings are going we wont be very soon.
Wait till some of them start losing their jobs, or family members suffer then we'll see who says it all good and rosy.

+1 wainuitech, -1 CliveM. To say that 99.99% think everything is fine is just not right. The TPPA agreement is not on their radar, in most cases. Then there is the matter of motivation to take a stand by attending a protest. Most people couldn't be bothered, whatever they think about it.

n't be bothered

1387205 2014-11-08 22:26:00 Well I wouldn’t go to a Protest Rally in case I ran into Minto.

I’m a bit long in the tooth to be “Doing Time”. :D

1387206 2014-11-08 23:07:00 All the stats indicate that NZ is one of the top countries in the world as far as employment, living conditions and just about anything else as well. If that changes we certainly will change the government. In the mean time we do live in a democracy with a government that the majority voted for. To be part of the 0.01% and declare that the 99% is wrong is rather arrogant I belive. CliveM (6007)
1387207 2014-11-08 23:16:00 we do live in a democracy with a government that the majority voted for. .

Nowhere near the majority of registered voters, not by a country mile.

As many people did not vote, as voted for team Shon-Key.
