1387170 2014-11-03 21:35:00 I'm not against people having the times changed, but some employers will take it to far. ( and that's is where it will turn bad, that's where I disagree with the change)

Yeah being self employed having a break is sometimes not an option, other times its the opposite - its a break most of the day :p

Other employers are already really good. Take SWMBO (please -- Only kidding) :D She often gets to work around 8.30, her start time is 9.00, BUT often she's working right through the morning till lunch without a break. Other times she has to take breaks at different times (medical reasons) But her boss is really good, if she's done all the work she can go home early.
Then theres others in her office as she puts it take advantage, 1/2 hr smoke breaks when they feel like it.

That's a thought -- What about smokers ? Lets say they cant go without their usual break at a certain time to get their "fix" Are they going to suffer and make everyone else suffer as well (bad moods etc).

I think the bulk of employers will be reasonable, so it's logical to manage the bad employers by exception.

I'm sure there will be an employee in the not too distant future who thinks he's hard-done-by (and perhaps looking for his 15 minutes of fame), who will go to the media with his complaint. The media will then see an opportunity to make this employee's claim into an end-of-the-world issue, as is their wont...

Then the light will be duly shone on the employer, and if found to be in breach of the Act, will be appropriately punished.

Don't get me started on smokers - they seem to get far more breaks than non-smokers already!!!

Luckily for all thinking people, they are only a small percentage of the voting population

And they have experienced almost no growth in supporters in recent times... which says it all really...

:)
